This week’s “More To Life” got some response
by Larry Potter on Sep.06, 2007, under Larry Potter
This was our second “More To Life” group study and it had a great response. If you don’t know about “More To Life” it is our monthly corporate life group meeting which takes place on the 1st Wednesday of every month at 6:30. It is follow up with a time of coffee, snacks and a time to just get caught up on each others life.
This week sparked a variety of topic discussions, one being the topic of angels. I want to share with you a thought I got from Brian and then some of my thoughts…
Larry,
I was pondering the discussion from this nights meeting, and I would like your insight on a point that I studied in an online course last year. The course was on the roles of Christ. The instructor pointed out that at times when the Old Testament refers to the Angel of the Lord, it is a direct reference to Christ. That Christ is the Angel of the Lord and has been present with God since the time of the creation. If this is a valid point, then could one not answer that Christ is the most important of the angels, or does Christ require a place beyond our views of angels? Does his status as the son of God place him in a different category? I’m not wanting to place Christ, God, Satan, and all other angels in nice neat compartments of understanding. I just wanted to get another viewpoint on this topic, especially when the original argument was quite strong.
God Bless,
Brian Justice
