Life Not Taking You Where You Want To Go?

by Larry Potter on Jul.09, 2007, under Larry Potter

I just finished the book titled “Chazown” by Greg Groeshel. Without a doubt, this is a book that will impact every aspect of your life. It is a book that is not a hard read by any stretch, and yet causes the reader to take a long, deep, hard look at how their life is going.

“Chazown” (khaw-ZONE) is a Hebrew word for “dream”, “revelation”, or “vision”.

Proverbs 29:18 says, “Where there is no vision, the people perish…” Where there is no “Chazown” we will die a slow and uneventful death.

The book will challenge you at the offset. The author starts with the end in mind. He asks you to write your epitaph. The things you would like people to say about you when you die. Then Groeshel leads you to begin working toward making those things real and happening in every aspect of your life, so that in the end all you wanted to accomplish in your life will have happened. What I like about this book is that it reveals when we do things God’s way, in all aspects of our lives: spritirual, relational, financial, even in the way we treat our body and our co-workers, we will not only fulfill our “Chazown” but success is sure to follow. How true it is, when we start out with the end in mind, set some mile markers, a successful life is sure to follow.

Looking forward to hearing your thoughts and life changes as you read the book.

Why Doesn’t God Seem Fair?

This morning we are going to address one of the biggest questions, one of the hurdles that so many people face before surrendering to God and that question is“Why doesn’t God seem fair?” I hear people say it all the time, “A loving God is not unfair, I will not believe in God that lets bad things happen to the good, all the while how can I trust a God that lets good things happen to bad people” And my answer is That is exactly why you and I should believe and trust and love God. Because He is not fair, and He lets good things happen to bad people.”

Why Didn’t God Answer My Prayer?

Maybe you are the person who has prayed for years and years that God would bring you a spouse, and what do you have? No spouse. And you wonder why.

You may be the wife who’s prayed for years and years that your husband would come to know Jesus and would be a little bit more like Jesus, but the harder you prayed, the more he becomes like the devil. And you wonder why.

Or you’re the parents who have prayed for the child that’s living a very dark lifestyle and the harder you pray and more you believe, the darker their lifestyle gets. And you wonder why.

Or like so many, you prayed for someone that you loved who was very, very sick. And you just believed that they would get better, and they didn’t. They got worse. And you wondered why.

This morning we are going to look at 3 possible reasons your prayers are not answered
